Meet The Team

Robert McMahon

Robert McMahon

Veterinary Surgeon

Rob has been a practicing veterinarian for over 18 years, fulfilling his childhood dream. He has worked here in Forster for 13 years and feels privileged to have been a part of the entire lives of many of his patients – from their first vaccinations to their precious final days. He has become a trusted family friend of many of his loyal clients over that time.

Samantha Blake

Practice Manager/Veterinary Nurse

Sam began veterinary nursing in 2009 but has been committed to the welfare of animals for the past 25 years, lobbying for voiceless animals on behalf of many welfare organisations. Sam loves her job and couldn’t ask for anything more than to spend her days caring for and improving the lives of animals. Sam is currently completing her Masters degree in International Animal Welfare, Ethics and Law.

Kate Ellis - Veterinary Nurse

Katie has a real love for all animals – she is dedicated to their positive welfare and wellbeing, always coming up with fresh ideas to ensure that they are enriched, stimulated and having fun. Katie works tirelessly in the rescue and rehoming of dogs and cats and has been involved with our local branch of Animal Welfare League for years, volunteering her time and her home as a foster carer. She now helps out with the running of their Facebook page and is their No.1 photographer, capturing shots that truly give an insight into each animal’s personality. In her “spare” time Katie works as a vet nurse in our practice and is a highly valued and witty (although we wouldn’t tell her that!) member of our team.  Katie has 3 dogs of her own – Fraggle, Bailey and Wally.

Brittany Clews - Veterinary Nurse

Brit is our bubbly and vivacious all-rounder. She keeps us organised and always has a smile on her face – juggling phones, animals and instruments all at once. Brit started her vet nursing career a few years back but took some time out to have her two beautiful little children. She has a great knack of effortlessly communicating with our patients and their owners. Brit has a special interest in large animal work, being an experienced horse rider and owner. But is equally at home with all of our small patients. Brit is definitely one of the Sweet Pea family and we are very fortunate to have her working with us. Brit has 2 dogs of her own – Rusty and Shadow.

Ashley Bates - Veterinary Nurse

Ash has been nursing for over 10 years and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. She is not fazed by much at all and is often the calm in the storm. Ash has experience in both large and small animal practices and has recently turned her hand to dealing with human health practice as well! She has worked in Forster for a number of years but more recently moved across to WA with her husband. She is back in town much to the delight of many of our clients. And now also has a beautiful little girl who just turned one.  Ash has one doggy of her own – Miley, although she’s lobbying for more!!
